What happens
Jack Benny begins his first day on a new Paramount picture, and he is nervous about a scene in which his character hangs upside down from a window. He argues with the wardrobe and his valet Rochester, who has burned his trousers, while Phil Harris, Mary Livingstone and singer Kenny Baker drop in to visit. Joan Bennett is expected for rehearsal, and Benny keeps changing his mind about the stunt in calls to the producer. The scene is set on the studio sound stage, where the film crew prepares the shoot. This Jell-O program was broadcast on June 12, 1938, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Benny, Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Harris among its stars.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris, Joan Bennett, Kenny Baker, Don Wilson, Mitch Lyon
Listen for: Benny's arguments with Rochester over the burned trousers and the upside-down window stunt, and his exchanges with his radio gang
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
