What happens
Jack Benny arrives in New York City for a television appearance and visits Mary Livingstone at her suite in the Sherry Netherlands Hotel. Jack wanders the hotel, getting into a series of comic mix-ups with the elevator, a room telephone, and a bellboy. Phil Harris calls about a harpist from the New York Philharmonic who wants to join his band, and Jack urges him to hire the musician. Dennis Day shows up in the suite pursued by a hotel detective, and later Rochester reports on flowers and a magazine interview. At dinner, Jack and Mary join Douglas Fairbanks Jr., who is dining alone. The Jack Benny radio program aired on NBC and CBS Radio, and the cast includes Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Listen for: Jack's escalating confusion in the hotel and the restaurant scene with Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
