What happens
On his birthday, Jack Benny tries to find a movie to see in Beverly Hills, but one plan after another falls through. He phones several women to ask them out, sings and bickers with his valet Rochester, and gets a haircut that goes awry when a goldfish bowl gets stuck on his head. Meanwhile his friends are plotting a surprise party at his house. This episode of the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on February 15, 1942, stars Jack Benny with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
