What happens

Jack Benny broadcasts his program from March Field in California, where he sparks jokes with Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris and Dennis Day. Benny banters with the cast about aviation, and Mary reads a poem about the base. Phil Harris struggles through a musical number, and a bomb is presented to Benny as a gift. Dennis Day sings with a group of soldiers, and a large Army sergeant joins Don Wilson on stage. Benny's car, meanwhile, has been damaged in an accident on the road to Beverly Hills, and Rochester reports the news by telephone. The show is a light, joking broadcast of Jack Benny's series, first heard in 1942 on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
