What happens
Jack Benny opens the new season of his radio program with his usual banter alongside Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone, Dennis Day, Bob Crosby and Rochester. Bob describes his summer weekends, and Dennis announces that he is quitting the show, offering a joking excuse about his supposed marriage and nine children. Jack reacts with mock anger while Mary arrives and trades jibes with him. Don then sulks over the attention the others receive, and Jack gives him applause. Rochester calls to report that the show is not coming through on the air, and Jack goes to the studio engineers to find out why.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
