The Lucky Strike program's first CBS show is broadcast from the studio with the regular cast, including Rochester, Don Wilson and Dennis Day. The 1949 episode is part of the long-running Jack Benny series, first aired on January 2, 1949.
Los Angeles, on the way to and inside the CBS studio on the day of Jack Benny's first broadcast on the Columbia Broadcasting System
Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Rochester, Phil Harris, Dennis Day, Don Wilson, Officer Sam Lauch, Amos
Listen for: Jack's growing nerves before the broadcast, the traffic officer's stop, and Phil Harris's band performing with the cast's jokes about the Lucky Strike commercial
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
