What happens

Jack Benny hosts his Jell-O program, which opens with banter in which he and Don Wilson trade jokes about Benny's baby pictures and childhood. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris and Kenny Baker join in, and Phil Harris is upset by a joke Benny made about him and threatens to leave the show. Later Benny tells a story from his vaudeville days in Altoona, Pennsylvania, about the juggler Fred Allen and a dramatic incident at the Palace Theatre. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on January 22, 1939, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris as the lead cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
