What happens

Jack Benny invites his girlfriend Gladys Obisco to watch a Sunday morning rehearsal at the studio, and the two stop for a sandwich at a drugstore on the way. Gladys, who works as a plumber, is recognized by Dennis Day and asked to look at a leak in the store. Meanwhile Benny and Phil Harris argue over the lyrics of a song Harris wants to sing, and Benny learns that Rochester's aunt comes from a town called Duodity, which Benny cannot find on any map. The Jack Benny Program was a radio comedy series, broadcast on NBC and CBS in 1948, starring Jack Benny with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

A drugstore near the studio, the studio corridors and dressing rooms, and the street outside, in Los Angeles.

Listen for: Benny's search for the town of Duodity, and his exchanges with Phil Harris over the lyrics of his song.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
