What happens

Jack Benny donates his beloved Maxwell automobile to a wartime scrap drive, and his radio company gathers at his house for a farewell ride in the old car. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Eddie Anderson and Dennis Day are among those who join him. The episode opens with a broadcast from Williams Field in Arizona, where the cast trades jokes about sunburn, hotels and the desert heat before a sponsor message for Grape Nuts Flakes. Benny and his friends take the Maxwell to a junkyard, where he signs it over for scrap. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, which aired on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
