What happens

Jack Benny and his cast perform a comedy version of the 1941 Warner Brothers film Dive Bomber for their radio show. Jack takes the role of flight surgeon Dr. Bellamy, while Dennis Day, Phil Harris and Mary Livingstone argue over who gets the most important part, and Don Wilson gives the introduction. Phil plays a pilot grounded by the medical staff, and a newly arrived doctor, Dr. Flynn, proposes an idea to help flyers at high altitude. Much of the sketch is built on Jack's crowd of friends and their rivalry over the parts they want. The episode also includes the usual Halloween banter, a Dennis Day song, and a young man's contract talks with Jack.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
