What happens
Jack Benny's program is interrupted when Dennis Day's mother arrives at the studio, angry that Benny has not raised Dennis's salary in five years. Dennis tries to calm her as she accuses Benny of being cheap and makes claims about his pay. The show carries on around the disturbance, with Phil Harris and Don Wilson drawn into the argument. Jack talks about his trip to Cairo and Tehran, Mary Livingston is reported to be recovering at home, and Rochester has caught a cold. The episode is from the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on December 12, 1943, on NBC and CBS Radio, starring Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Listen for: Mrs. Day confronting Jack Benny in the audience and on stage over Dennis's salary
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
