What happens
Dennis Day wants a raise, and Jack Benny refuses to give him one. Dennis argues his case in the hallway while Jack lectures him on his pay, and the dispute spreads to the rest of the cast, including Phil Harris, who complains about being left out of the script. Barbara Stanley substitutes for Mary Livingstone, who is ill, and the program includes a jokey exchange about a Thanksgiving game and a maid's job that Rochester arranges for his niece. The Jack Benny series aired on November 28, 1943, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles.

Listen for: Jack's logic that Dennis earns $17.50 a minute, and Rochester's shaky account of his day off
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
