What happens

Jack Benny hosts a party and a movie outing at his Beverly Hills house, and his friends drop in along the way. Dennis Day, the program's young singer, becomes infatuated with guest Barbara Stanwyck after he meets her at the house and gets into an argument with Benny over her. Dennis soon grows boastful about his own star potential and resentful of the older comedian. The Jack Benny Program aired on NBC and CBS Radio on April 10, 1949, starring Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris. Dennis's feelings for Stanwyck begin to take over his thoughts as the episode goes on.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
