What happens

Jack Benny is in New York in December, still without an overcoat, and his cast mates keep teasing him about it. Mary Livingstone reads a letter from her mother about her family's odd goings-on in Plainfield, while the orchestra's musicians and Phil Harris cause small troubles on the bandstand. Jack then sets out to finish his Christmas shopping, and the sponsor's Jell-O is mentioned along the way. This episode of the Jack Benny series aired on December 11, 1938, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
