What happens
Jack Benny is on the set of his new picture, Charley's Aunt, at the 20th Century Fox studio, where he plays a man disguised as a woman. In his dressing room, he bickers with his valet Rochester and makeup man Mr. Carnegie over his wig, lashes and costume while friends drop in. Mary Livingstone teases him, and Phil Harris and Dennis Day arrive. Jack and Kay Francis rehearse a scene, and the director Archie Mayo weighs in on whether the two should kiss. The broadcast is a Jell-O program hosted by Don Wilson, with a Jell-O commercial and recipes in between. The episode was first broadcast on May 18, 1941, on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
