What happens

Jack Benny hosts the second show of the 1951 season, and his cast is soon quarrelling. Don Wilson takes offence at a joke, Mary Livingston's car trouble leads to a comic story, and Dennis Day and Phil Harris join the dispute. The sketch then begins, with Benny playing Captain Horatio Hornblower in a parody of a Warner Brothers film, while Don Wilson sets the scene. Rochester calls in with a mishap involving golf clubs. The series' Lucky Strike sponsorship and regular cast are featured, and the episode was broadcast on September 23, 1951.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
