What happens

Jack Benny plans a personal appearance tour with his publicity man, Steve Bradley, who proposes increasingly bizarre stunts, from pigeons released from violins to a publicity jump into a net. Mary Livingston drops by, and Phil Harris calls with trouble over the band's wardrobe and seating. Benny's old suit prompts Mary to suggest a shopping trip for a new wardrobe. The Jack Benny Program, sponsored by Lucky Strike, aired on NBC and CBS Radio in 1950, with Benny, Livingston, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the leading roles. Benny's ill-fated shopping outing and the question of Rochester's whereabouts are both complicating the plans as the episode continues.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
