What happens
Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris appear in an episode of the Jell-O program. Jack is annoyed after Fred Allen made slurring remarks about his violin playing, and he complains to his cast. A man named Buckingham Benny arrives to protest, because a Western serial called Buck Benny Rides Again has been causing him trouble, since people now call him Buck. Jack and Buckingham talk about his work as a window dresser in Pomona, and Buckingham stays for a while. Kenny Baker sings, and then the program turns to the Western serial itself, where Sheriff Buck Benny and his deputies ride out to Tombstone Creek to find the outlaw Cactus Face. The guide does not reveal further events.
A radio studio program in Hollywood, followed by the Western serial set in Cactus County, including the sheriff's office and an old deserted hotel at Tombstone Creek.
Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Kenny Baker, Buckingham Benny, Eddie Anderson, Andy Devine
Listen for: Buckingham Benny's complaint about the Western serial, and the sheriff's ride to the haunted hotel at Tombstone Creek.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
