What happens

Jack Benny broadcasts his Jell-O program from the Western Women's Club in San Francisco, with Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris and Kenny Baker in the cast. Benny jokes with Don Wilson about the gold rush, the friendly city and its fog, and the others arrive late and rush about. Mary recites a poem she has written about the city, and Phil Harris sings. The group then plans a dinner at a Chinatown restaurant, where Benny telephones an old friend, Sleepy Sapperman, who now runs the place. Originally aired January 9, 1938.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
