What happens
Jack Benny feuds with Phil Harris, his bandleader, and the two men trade jibes on the Jell-O program in the week before Christmas. Mary Livingstone, Don Wilson and Kenny Baker join the banter as Jack claims he has two personalities and insists he cannot forgive Phil. The cast exchanges gag gifts, including a gold button hook, a single earring and a curling iron. Jack and Phil's dispute is rooted in the show's regular comedy. The episode is from the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on December 20, 1936, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris as the lead actors.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Kenny Baker, Andy Devine
Listen for: The gag gift exchange and Jack's mock-serious poem about bearing a grudge with a grin
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
