What happens
Jack Benny hosts a late Sunday breakfast at his Beverly Hills home, where his guests Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris ask about Rochester, who has not returned from his Friday night off. Benny then searches for a new singer for his radio show and travels to Allen's Alley to poll the neighborhood. Fred Allen joins him on the bus and comes along for the search, which brings Benny a string of odd suggestions and unhelpful encounters. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on October 29, 1944, with Benny, Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
