What happens
Catherine Brian, a troubled young woman, returns to her late father's house and demands the truth about how he died ten years ago. Her mother Lola and stepfather Mark Weldon insist the death was an accident and refuse to discuss it. Catherine turns to a strange painted tile she has been given, which she believes will let her speak with the dead. Inner Sanctum Mysteries is the series, and this episode, The Magic Tile, first aired on March 8, 1948, with Mercedes McCambridge as Catherine and Edward Sloan as Mark. Catherine stares at the tile in the firelight and begins to see a figure who claims knowledge of her father's fate. The guide does not reveal the outcome.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
