What happens
Gar Stevens wakes beside his dead wife, Nina, unable to recall how she died, and he turns to his friend and lawyer, Lyman, for help. Lyman is reluctant at first, since Gar admits he had been planning a divorce and that the police would see a motive. Gar's lover, Claudia, urges him to flee and draw out his money, and the two of them begin to plan an escape. Gar's panic grows as he hears that the police are closing in and that his lawyer may not be fully on his side. The episode, from the Inner Sanctum Mysteries series, first aired on January 26, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
