What happens

Danny Williams, who has lived for years as the companion of his blind uncle Morgan, decides to kill him after Morgan refuses to give him ten thousand dollars so he can marry Martha. Danny strangles Morgan with a cord, then lies to the police about a thief, and he inherits the estate. Afterward, Danny hears the sound of his uncle's cane tapping through the house, and the cane appears at his door. The story is told in Danny's own voice as he struggles with what he has done.

Morgan's big house, where Danny lives with his blind uncle

Characters: Danny Williams, Morgan, Martha

Listen for: The incessant tapping of Morgan's cane, which Danny hears after the murder

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
