What happens
Richard Senna, an assistant to color chemist Spentorck, is suspected of murdering his employer after Spentorck's body vanishes while he was developing a formula that lets colorblind people see red and green. Richard is tested with the formula on a train-borne journey to a laboratory setting, and his reaction shows the formula has effects. Meanwhile, Anna, Spentorck's sister, and Richard plot together around the formula, which the papers say was on Spentorck's person. An inspector examines a meat house where clues about the disappearance are found. Rendering the events of this first part in the series' Inner Sanctum style, the episode is part of the Inner Sanctum Mysteries series, originally broadcast on December 6, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
