What happens

Larry Gifford, an ex-convict from Chicago, wakes beside a dead woman in a New Orleans hotel room, with a knife on the floor and his hands bloody. Police arrest him, but he escapes from jail and drifts into a bar where he meets Claudine Lucerne, a woman he recognizes from a newspaper. She soon draws him into a strange, hypnotic relationship that leaves him dazed and unsure what is real. Inner Sanctum Mysteries presents this tale of murder and manipulation, first broadcast on May 15, 1945, with Simone Simone playing Claudine.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
