What happens

Carol Winters, a mystery novelist staying at a hotel on the rocky coast of Skeleton Bay, witnesses a fatal knife fight on the beach between a man called Mr. Field and a stranger, Michael Barrett. The next day, a detective begins asking questions about Mr. Field's disappearance, and a newspaper clipping links Michael to an old murder. The episode is part of the Inner Sanctum Mysteries series, broadcast on January 30, 1950, and narrated by Carole Winters through a dramatic monologue.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
