What happens
Ted Lyon inherits Highgate, a rundown family estate in the New England town of Hillcrest, and learns that his great-great-grandfather Daniel Zenger was executed for consorting with the devil. Ted finds Zenger's old manuscripts and a librarian, Hillary Waters, who claims they contain prophecies. The prophecy seems to point to Ted's inheritance, and Ted begins to act on its clues. Inner Sanctum Mysteries aired on 1948-09-27 with its usual host, and this episode is titled Murder by Prophecy.
