What happens
Fats and Regan, two drifters, fall out over a treasure map that a golden-haired woman gave Fats. After Regan kills Fats and takes the map and gold notes, he rents a boat to reach the island the map marks, which locals call Hangman's Island. There he finds a man hanging in a trap and meets a man claiming to be a Coast Guard lieutenant named Burnside, who warns him that the island is full of deadly traps. Regan decides to press on toward the cave marked on the map, despite the dangers around him.
