What happens
Carol Vane marries John Vane, a widower whose first wife, Margaret, drowned after a fall from the cliffs near their home. Soon after the wedding, an anonymous note warns Carol that Margaret's death was not an accident. Carol and John visit the ledge where Margaret died and find a woman's high heel in a crack in the rock. Margaret's uncle, Jeremy Mangum, then arrives with a letter from Margaret that she sent before her death, describing a fear for her life, and offers to sell it to John. Inner Sanctum Mysteries presents this 1948 episode, originally broadcast on September 6, 1948, with Arlene Blackburn as Carol and Lawson Zerbe as John.
