What happens

Clara Fleming, living in a parched desert valley during a brutal heat wave, is warned by her doctor Vincent Bronson to leave immediately. Inner Sanctum Mysteries presents this episode, Dead Heat, written by Ed Adamson and Bob Sloan, with Mercedes McCambridge as Clara and Carlos Romero as Vincent, first broadcast August 15, 1949. Listen for: Clara's insistence that her dead sister Evelyn is still alive and watching her, and the diary entries that seem to threaten revenge.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
