What happens
Britt Reid, a daring young publisher known as the Green Hornet, and his Filipino valet Kato investigate the murder of Carl Rittman, a former assistant to Professor Lowell at the State University. Rittman was shot in his office, and an Army nurse, Lieutenant Olivia Hollis, comes to the Daily Sentinel with a story about his past. The Green Hornet series, first broadcast on January 9, 1945, centers on this case. Reid and Michael Axford look into Rittman's files, and Kato traces a clue from a telephone pad. The story then follows Reid's efforts to uncover what happened to Rittman and the people connected to him.
A city with a State University, the Daily Sentinel newspaper offices, and a hotel, during wartime.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
