What happens

Rick Reid, a young newspaper publisher who secretly fights crime as the Green Hornet, investigates the murder of Lamar Kazan, assistant to noted scientist Professor Barton, who was shot in his office at the State University. Kazan's past is the focus of the case: a former Army sergeant reports that he once worked for Russian interrogators in East Berlin. When she disappears after a dinner invitation, Reid's reporter Mike Axford fears she has been kidnapped by communist spies. Reid pursues the case through Kazan's files and a coded phone number that leads him to a mysterious agent named Ritman. The story is part of the Green Hornet radio series, and this episode first aired on October 24, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
