What happens

Britt Reid, the Green Hornet, investigates a theft of microfilm containing secret plans after a diplomat's daughter, Dolores Juarez, is targeted by foreign agents. At a farewell tea at a South American embassy, Dolores hides the film inside a lipstick case, but a handbag mix-up with society reporter Clicker Benny leaves the film in the wrong hands. Britt's secretary Lenore Case alerts him to the switch, and he follows the trail through a hotel room and an old house while Kato assists him. Dolores and Clicker are captured by spies who want the plans, and the Green Hornet races to rescue them. Commissioner Higgins and the police arrive at the river dock as the spies try to escape by motorboat.

Listen for: Pay attention to the handbag mix-up and the hidden microfilm inside the lipstick case, since the mistake drives the whole plot.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
