What happens

Brit Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his valet Kato investigate the death of Danny Rivera, a henchman of racketeer Jeff Warren. Rivera had gone to the district attorney to inform on Warren, and the racketeer's temper flared when he learned of it. Reid's associates, Ed Lorry and Lenore Case, gather what they can about the fight at Warren's nightclub. Rivera's knowledge of Warren's dealings puts him in danger. The Green Hornet, the masked crime fighter, works to bring the racketeer's crimes to light. Warren's safe and its combination become central to the case.

Present-day city, 1950s; the Daily Sentinel offices, Warren's nightclub, and the Harlan Plaza Hotel.

Characters: Brit Reid, Kato, Ed Lorry, Lenore Case, Jeff Warren, Danny Rivera, Gats Norton, Lois Spencer

Listen for: The safe combination and the fight at Warren's nightclub, which set up the racketeer's downfall.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
