What happens
Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher, works with his valet Cato to investigate a series of disturbing events. Michael Axby, who poses as a reporter for the Daily Sentinel while serving as Reid's bodyguard, accompanies Ed Lowry to a crowded nightclub where they watch Melchior and his secretary, Miss Bates. After Miss Bates receives a summons to visit a summer cottage and leaves alone, she is abducted from a taxi. Lowry sets out to trace her disappearance while the Sentinel follows the story, and a membership card with a sinister secret society tied to a dead chauffeur draws Reid into the case. The Green Hornet, Reid's masked identity, works to uncover the truth behind the ring.
A crowded city nightclub, the offices of the Daily Sentinel, police headquarters, and a secret workshop beneath Britt Reid's apartment in the city.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
