What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, sends reporters Larry Lawry and Gail Manning to cover a deadly explosion at a munitions factory. Tom Eden, a guard at the plant, was on the scene when the fire began, and the reporters press him for details. Lawry and Manning soon find a suspicious link between Eden and a newsboy who sold papers near the factory gate. The Green Hornet and his valet Kato become involved as the investigation moves from the factory to the newsstand and a hidden laboratory.

A wartime munitions factory and its surrounding workers' town, the city newspaper office, and a newsstand near the factory gate.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Larry Lawry, Gail Manning, Tom Eden, Gunnegan, Jimmy, Billy

Listen for: Listen for the small detail about the newspapers Tom Eden bought on his way to work, which the reporters begin to connect to the fire.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
