What happens

Britt Reid, a daring young newspaper publisher who works in secret as the Green Hornet, and his assistant Kato look into the death of a man named Garland. Garland was shot after an attempt to blow up George Wallace's home, and Wallace, who works on a war weapon, has vanished. Police suspect the Green Hornet, while Reid and Kato pursue the case on their own. The story follows the rival gangsters and the reporters around the case as Wallace's safety becomes the central concern.

A town in wartime America, including a neighborhood drugstore, a quiet house, the Sentinel newspaper office, and a remote farmhouse in the country.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Michael Axford, Sergeant Broderick, Garland, George Wallace, Dirk, Coleman

Listen for: Listen for the police theory that the Green Hornet is behind the attack, and for the gangsters' hunt for George Wallace and the secret of his radar work.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
