What happens

Britt Reid, publisher, and his valet Kato, working together as the Green Hornet, investigate Robertson, a gasoline dealer who undersells everyone else in the state. Rumors suggest Robertson runs a racket, and his tank cars are the focus of their suspicions. After a train wreck involving Robertson's tank cars, the Green Hornet is seen at the scene, and the newspaper reports it. Reid's reporter Lowry is sent to question Robertson, and the Hornet sends a note of his own. The episode follows the Hornet's efforts to expose the scheme behind Robertson's low prices.

A city and the surrounding railroad lines, including a rail yard, a newspaper office, and Robertson's apartment, in the late evening.

Characters: Green Hornet, Kato, Britt Reid, Robertson, Dutch, Larry Lowry, Gunnegan, Casey

Listen for: Listen for the wreck on the rail line, the newspaper reports on the Hornet's involvement, and the Hornet's later confrontation with Robertson in the dark office.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
