What happens

Insurance adviser Dougal and his partner Webster charge a poor widow, Mrs. O'Fara, a hundred dollars for advice on her policies, and a court rules against them as racketeers who exploit people like her. Publisher Reed runs an editorial warning readers about certain insurance advisers, and the pair's anger grows as they receive threatening letters. When Dougal overhears a mention of the Green Hornet, he and Webster become convinced the masked crusader is among their clients, and they begin hunting for his identity. The Green Hornet, with his valet Kato, sets out to turn their scheme against them.

An unnamed city in the late 1930s, with a courtroom, an insurance office, a newspaper office, and a rooming house on East 10th Street.

Characters: Green Hornet, Kato, Dougal, Webster, Reed, Mrs. O'Fara, Casey

Listen for: Dougal's startled reaction when he hears the name Green Hornet over the telephone, and the hunt for the masked man's identity that follows.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
