What happens
Reporter Britt Reid of the Daily Sentinel, with his assistant Lenore Case and his editor Mr. Reid, follows a tip about a diplomat named Sneed who has been bringing unusually large shipments of imported lace into the city. A customs inspector and a reporter named Lowry confront Sneed at the customs house, where a trunk breaks open and reveals lace handkerchiefs. Lowry takes one back to the office, and the staff begins to suspect a smuggling racket involving a department store. Later, the Green Hornet is drawn into the affair, watching Sneed's party and the late-night transfer of goods.
A city in the late 1930s, including the customs house, the Daily Sentinel newspaper office, a diplomat's apartment, and a department store.

Listen for: The first customs house argument, where the broken trunk of lace handkerchiefs is found.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
