What happens
Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his valet Kato investigate a hijacking in which a truck carrying new Ace cars is lured onto a false detour and its driver is killed. Police find a memo pad impression reading CONRAD, and Reid links the name to a telephone exchange and number after hearing a radio quiz program. Acting as the Green Hornet, Reid follows the trail and makes calls that draw out the gang's messages. The episode is part of The Green Hornet series, broadcast in 1946.
A city in the 1940s, including the Daily Sentinel newsroom, police headquarters, Reid's apartment, and a country road outside the city.

Listen for: The clue of the CONRAD impression on the memo pad and how Reid decodes it into a telephone number while listening to a quiz program.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
