What happens

Britt Reid, a young publisher, works with his valet Kato and secretary Lenore Case while a labor strike at the Empire Company turns violent. A picket named Rodney Franklin charges a man named York with attempted murder, but York is released when the case is dismissed. Shortly afterward the Franklin house burns down, killing Franklin and his wife, and the official verdict is an overheated furnace. Reid and Kato then take York to a deserted summer hotel to make him talk.

A city during a labor strike, including the Empire Company factory, the Daily Sentinel newspaper office, the Franklin home, and the closed summer colony of Wildwood.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Lenore Case, York, Rodney Franklin, Alice Franklin, Derek, Harry Steele

Listen for: Listen for Britt Reid's late-night questioning of York at the deserted Wildwood hotel, and for Lenore Case's remarks about the Green Hornet.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
