What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel and the masked crime fighter the Green Hornet, attends the Rockmore Ball with his assistant Casey. During the party, Glen Rockmore's jewels are stolen in a dark room, and a private detective named Palmerston claims he tipped off police that the Green Hornet would strike. Britt realizes his own mask has gone missing and begins to worry about who may have it. Palmerston then offers Britt a deal to help him capture the thief, and Britt and his valet Cato set out to follow the detective's late-night plans. The Green Hornet series aired its episode on February 17, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
