What happens

Britt Reid, a young publisher who works as the masked crime fighter the Green Hornet, looks into a hit-and-run accident involving his friend Len Forrester. Forrester, after a night of drinking, struck a man named Cats with his car, and a doctor and a shady acquaintance named Mitten appear to have arranged matters afterward. Reid visits the injured Cats and grows suspicious of the people surrounding the incident. Kato, his loyal valet, assists him as he prepares to act against the men involved. The Green Hornet's investigation is set against the newspaper's campaign for stiffer penalties for hit-and-run drivers. Reid's own role in the events remains a central question as the story unfolds.

A city in the 1950s, including a social club, the Daily Sentinel newspaper office, a cottage and the Reid apartment with its hidden passage to the Green Hornet's garage.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
