What happens

The Green Hornet follows Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher who secretly fights crime as the Green Hornet with his valet Kato. Smoothie Lawrence, freshly released after two years in prison, hatches a plan with a man named Max Zinder to murder a consulate attache and seize important papers, while framing the Green Hornet for the crime. When the police find a Hornet seal on the body, Reid and Kato investigate the chauffeur's room above the garage and then the consulate itself. The episode is a 1945 chapter of The Green Hornet, first aired November 8, 1945; the lead actors are not named in the transcript.

A city in the 1940s, including the Water Street Cafe, Zinder's west side apartment, the Daily Sentinel newspaper offices, Reid's apartment, a garage above which the chauffeur lives, and a consulate on a river road.

Characters: Smoothie Lawrence, Max Zinder, Britt Reid, Kato, Mike Axford, Gunnegan

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
