What happens

Britt Reid, a young publisher, learns that Frank Dennan, a promising minor league pitcher for the Eagles, has been losing games in suspicious ways. Sportswriter Vince Cooney reports that the losses followed calls from Louis Gordon's office. Reid begins to look into Dennan's troubles, which include a broken engagement to Phyllis Waring. Frank is drawn into a meeting with gambler Ziggy Fagan at the old sports restaurant, where a photograph is taken of the two men together. The episode is part of The Green Hornet radio series, with Reid acting as the masked Green Hornet and Kato as his assistant.

A minor league baseball town across the river from a major league city, its sports restaurant, and Louis Gordon's office.

Characters: Britt Reid, Frank Dennan, Vince Cooney, Lenore Case, Phyllis Waring, Joe Waring, Louis Gordon, Ziggy Fagan

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
