Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel and secretly the Green Hornet, hears of a crime ring stealing jewels at society parties. Police Commissioner Higgins has been consulting Colonel Ashton Burley, a retired British officer who has recently become a prominent figure in town. The Civic Club's charity Monte Carlo night, with tens of thousands of dollars at the tables, is about to become the next target. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
