What happens

Racketeer Oliver Perry, serving time in a California prison, arranges a visit from gangster Jack Bartow, who wants Linda Travis, secretary to newspaper publisher Dan Reed, to reveal the identity of the Green Hornet. Britt Reid, the Green Hornet's alter ego, and his father Dan Reed travel west when Linda disappears. Her body is soon found beside a road, and the police treat her death as a hit-and-run, while Britt suspects murder. Britt, with Miss Case, begins to investigate the case in the crime-fighting radio series The Green Hornet, first broadcast on May 18, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
