What happens

Britt Reid, a young publisher of the Daily Sentinel, is grieving after reporter Betty Jennings is killed following her undercover work as a taxi dancer at the Palace dance hall. Jennings had been investigating a marijuana distribution ring tied to dance hall operator Waxie Lucas. Police Commissioner Higgins and Reid's secretary Lenore Case work with Reid, and Reid's valet Cato is also involved. Police raid several locations and arrest dozens of suspects, but many are given suspended sentences by Judge Carvel. Reid then investigates the judge's rulings, and the episode is part of The Green Hornet series, first aired June 8, 1948.

A city in the late 1940s, including the Palace taxi dance hall, the Daily Sentinel offices, police headquarters and a courtroom.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
